In the UK 1841 Census there is a Charles Gunning shown as a (Commercial) Agent, with 2 of his sons - Joseph and Thomas - at West Street, St Mary Newington, Lambeth, Surrey.

The best fit death record found was for a Charles GUNNING of Aylesbury Place, Kent Road, buried on 20 December 1844 in St Giles, Camberwell, Surrey aged 61 years (although this is just a best guess).

Cannot find an entry for Charles Peter Gunning in the UK 1951 Census in the London area.

Although there is an entry in the 1856 Post Office Directory for a Charles Peter Gunning, Linen Draper, of 11 Murray Street, Camden Town, London - this business could have continued to trade but managed by one of Charles's other 4 known sons.

On the marriage certificate of his son Thomas Gunning m. Ellen Keenehan, dated 18 Apr 1858, it is stated that Charles Gunning, a Muslin Manufacturer by trade, is deceased at that date.
